One of the oldest and largest wineries in Virginia, Ingleside is part of a 3,000 acre estate which has been a working facility more than one hundred years. The Chesapeake Bay surrounding Virginia's Northern Neck, plays a major role in creating the stable climate that accommodates the 32 varietals of American hybrid and grafted binifera European vines which cover about 70 acres of the Virginia countryside. Combined the climate, topography, and sandy loam soil create conditions similar to those of the Bordeaux region of France.

The Ingleside estate was established in 1834 and in 1980 produced its first commercial wines. Ingleside wines are only made from hand-harvested grapes, grown right here in our own vineyards. Ingleside continues to consistently earn top honors in state, national and international wine competitions. And it's no wonder—our winemaker, Bill Swain, is a master who produces excellent wines year after year.
